Raj, aged 5, was rushed into the emergency treatment room at your clinic, after he “collapsed” at school.

He was known to have peanut allergy and apparently he ate some of a playmate’s biscuit at school. He soon developed breathing difficulty.

Upon arrival he was semi conscious and cyanosed but had a palpable, albeit thready, pulse. (Thready is a common medical term for a feeble type pulse). He stopped breathing while under observation.

His vital signs were:
Respiration 0
Pulse 100
BP 50/30
