A nice review on health and wellness is presented by Dr Ellis.
He stressed that the interactions of nutritional and life style
factors with human physiology, biochemistry, pathology and anatomy
and the clinical application of these interactions in the optimisation
of health and the prevention and treatment of disease
In her review on COMMON GENETICS AND METABOLIC DISEASES IN
SAUDI ARABIA Dr Aqeel discussed the fact that Middle Eastern
cultures are tribal and heavily consanguineous. Marriage between
cousins has been part of the culture for millennia leading to
"founder" effect and a large number of autosomal recessive
diseases. She concluded by stressing that early recognition
is important to initiate treatment and to prevent complications.
