I was born in 1958, Sivrihisar / Eskisehir / Turkey. I graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1982. I worked as a practitioner in a health center in the Middle- Northern (Black Sea Region) of Anatolia, Tokat, up to 1984. Then I had my military service as gendarme physician in Bilecik (Marmara region of Turkey). After military service I worked at different primary care outpatient units at different health care centers in Eskisehir. I also worked as vice health director of Eskisehir province.

I attended Family Practice Residency Program in Ministry of Health Ankara Education Hospital in 1987 and became a "Family Practice Specialist" in 1991. Then I worked in a health center in Eskisehir and worked as vice health director of Eskisehir province, for four months. I attended to Osmangazi University Medical School by academic title of "Assistant Prosfessor in Family Practice" as founder and head of Family Practice Department in 1994. (I'm the first academical person in family medicine in Turkey). I received the title of Associate Professor in Family Practice" in 1998.

In medical school, I worked in Emergency Service of University Hospital between 1994-1999. I founded the Paramedic (Emergency Medical Technician) Department in 1997 and I'm still the head of this department (in Health Technician School of university). In Medical School, I have been in the committees of medical education, clinical skills and internship, since 1998. I'm vice medical director of Osmangazi University Hospital since 1997 and we got ISO-9001 in this period. I'm also the head of the Check-up Center of University Hospital.

In medical school, I'm especially interested in; medical education, reproductive health, emergency health services in pre-hospital period, first aid training and quality in health services.

I'm in the National Central Education Team of Reproductive Health Education of Residents (project of United Nations Population Fund). I'm in the inspection committee of regional medical chamber. I was elected to honorary committee of Turkish Association of Family Physicians in 2002.

I attended to 27 courses / seminars and 38 congresses / symposiums in Turkey and abroad. I am a member of several national and international proffesional societies and associations of primary care and family medicine such as WONCA, EURACT, Mediterranean Medical Society.

I am married and have 2 sons.

I have 60 articles and 73 abstracts (national and international presentation). Publications are mostly in Turkish.
